Retirement Award Retirement Award

Amber Lecy and Jessie Brust, both with Pine Bluff Arsenal&apso;s Directorate of Public Works, received certificates of achievement during a staff meeting in December for their contributions to the installation's Continuous Process Improvement Program. Their project was about savings by reducing the number of rented fleet vehicles on PBA. By reducing these numbers, the Arsenal will save approximately $26,946.40.

Retirement Award

Christopher Taylor with Pine Bluff Arsenal&apso;s Directorate of Public Works received a certificate of achievement during a staff meeting in December for his contribution to the installation&apso;s Continuous Process Improvement Program. His project was about a requirement for PBA to build a least three new storm shelters. Outside contracting costs for building three above ground shelters is approximately $138,987. Resolution is to save those costs by repurposing existing in-ground buildings for storm shelter usage.

Certificate of Achievement Award

Greg Pendleton with Pine Bluff Arsenal&apso;s Directorate of Risk Management and Regulatory Affairs received a certificate of achievement during a staff meeting in December for his contribution to the installation&apso;s Continuous Process Improvement Program. His project was about cost avoidance for disposal of surplus paint inventory. Cost avoidance is approximately $9,457 for disposal of paint through DLA reutilization program instead of disposition services.

Retirement Award

Jim Haley with Pine Bluff Arsenal&apso;s Directorate of Business Operations received a certificate of achievement during a staff meeting in December for his contribution to the installation&apso;s Continuous Process Improvement Program. His project was about cost savings for the process in creating name tents for VIP visits. The old process took an estimated 32 hours. The revised process cuts this time down to five hours with a cost savings of approximately $3,920.

Retirement Award

Kelley Dancer with Pine Bluff Arsenal&apso;s Directorate of Business Operations received a certificate of achievement during a staff meeting in December for her contribution to the installation&apso;s Continuous Process Improvement Program. Her project centered around Ammunition Operations in-class training that results in lost production time as well as instruction fees. By replacing classroom instruction with printed posters, a savings of approximately $63,307 can be achieved.

Retirement Award

Justin Barbaree and Mike McDonel, both with Pine Bluff Arsenal&apso;s Directorate of Information Management, were recognized for their outstanding contributions in assisting in establishing the requirements and process required to successfully integrate the information technology systems for the Analytical Laboratory System-Modified Work Order project. Their assistance in the development and identification of complex IT processes and the risks, issues and opportunities associated with those tasks have provided immense value in ensuring effective overall systems compatibility and sub-system integration. Their willingness to contribute their time and efforts into this project have proven beneficial not only to the success of the projects internally but to the fielded operational readiness of units across the country.
